If you have fought in official kickboxing bouts at national, international, continental or world level, you can apply for a place in the KBN World Ranking. You submit your records and evidence, not a points claim. KBN checks every bout with the organiser, calculates your points with a published formula, issues a Fighter ID and licence, and then publishes your ranking in the table for your discipline, category, gender and weight class.
This guide walks through the whole process in the order you will meet it, with the numbers that decide where you appear.
Step 1: check that you are eligible
KBN accepts male and female athletes, amateur and professional, who have documented participation in official events. During the founding period the priority disciplines are MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing and Muay Thai; other individual martial arts go to the Technical Committee for approval first.
- You need at least one official bout at a recognised event. Club inter-gym sparring, seminars and unrecorded exhibitions do not count.
- The bout must be provable with an official result sheet, fight card, official result link or written confirmation from the organiser or federation.
- Results older than 24 months can be submitted, and stay on your record, but they score zero in the active ranking.
- Athletes under 18 need written parental or guardian consent uploaded with the application.
Step 2: gather your evidence before you start
The online application has four steps, and the slowest part is almost always finding documents. Collect these first:
- A clear scan or photo of your passport or national identity document.
- A recent portrait photo on a plain background (it is cropped to the 35 × 45 mm licence ratio).
- For every bout: the event name, host city and country, date, organiser, ruleset, bout weight, opponent, result, method, round and time.
- Official results for each event: a PDF result sheet, a link to the organiser's published results, or a signed letter.
- Medals, certificates or diplomas where you have them.
- A verifiable contact person for each event: an organiser, referee coordinator or federation officer who can confirm the result.
Name the combined file the way KBN suggests, for example FULLNAME_COUNTRY_DISCIPLINE.pdf. It speeds up the branch check.

Step 3: complete the online application
Open the application wizard and create your fighter account with an e-mail address and password. Your draft is saved after step 1, so you can come back later.
- Athlete information: name, date of birth, nationality, passport or ID number (encrypted and never shown publicly), gender, contact details, club, coach, discipline, category, current weight, height and your declared record.
- Bout records: one entry per event. Bouts older than 24 months are flagged with a warning that they will not count in the active ranking.
- Evidence: six upload slots (identity, portrait, bout records, official results, certificates, supporting links). PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB each.
- Declaration: you review the summary, type your name as a signature and confirm the declaration.
You will not see an estimated point total at any point in the application. That is deliberate: points exist only after results are verified.
Step 4: the six review stages
After you submit, the application moves through six stages. Your national branch prepares and verifies; KBN World HQ decides the final steps.

Step 5: how your bouts become points
Each verified bout is scored with one formula: base points × event multiplier × time value, rounded to one decimal. Your total is the sum over all verified bouts.

A submission bonus exists only in MMA, so it never applies in kickboxing. The event multiplier runs from ×1.0 at a national event to ×3.0 at a World Championship, and results lose half their value after 12 months and all of it after 24 months.
Step 6: your licence and your place in the table
Once your points are calculated, KBN World HQ issues your KBN Fighter ID (for example KBN-GB-1047), your licence number and a licence valid for one year. At publication you receive your Certificate of Official World Ranking and appear in three tables at once: world, your continent and your country. Anyone can check your documents on the verify page by number or by scanning the QR code.

Common reasons applications stall
- A result link that points to a promotion's home page rather than the actual results.
- An event that is not yet in the KBN register: it is created without a level and scores nothing until KBN World HQ assigns one.
- Bout weights or dates that do not match the official sheet.
- A blurred or cropped identity document.
A realistic timeline
Verification speed depends mostly on how quickly organisers confirm results. A typical sequence for a complete application looks like this:

Keep your record growing
Your ranking is not a one-off. After publication, submit every new bout from your fighter portal with its evidence. New results go in as pending, and your branch and KBN World HQ are notified. Because results halve after 12 months and expire after 24, regular new results are what keep a ranking healthy.

No application fee is charged during the founding period. Any future fee would cover administrative review or documents only; ranking points can never be purchased.
