In combat sports, a licence answers three questions quickly: is this the person they say they are, are they allowed to compete, and what is their verified standing? The KBN Fighter Ranking License answers all three on one page, and its QR code links to a live record so it cannot be quietly out of date.
The three identifiers
Every licensed KBN athlete has three numbers. They are generated automatically in sequence, never reused and never chosen by hand.

The Fighter ID follows the athlete for their whole career. A new licence number is issued for each licence; the certificate number identifies the Certificate of Official World Ranking issued when the ranking is published.

What the licence shows
- Athlete: name, country, date of birth, discipline, category, weight class and portrait.
- Identifiers: KBN Fighter ID, licence number and licence status (Active, Suspended, Expired or Pending verification).
- Ranking: national, continental and world position, ranking points and verified record.
- Validity: issue date, valid-until date and certificate number.
- A QR code that opens the verify page for that licence number.
The document renders its values live. A printed or downloaded PDF records the moment it was generated, and the verify page is always the authority if the two differ.
Who issues it, and when
Only KBN World HQ (the Ranking Committee or a super administrator) can issue a Fighter ID or licence. National branches prepare and verify applications, but they cannot issue documents. The licence is issued at stage 5 of the application, after the athlete's identity and results have been verified and points calculated.
How long it lasts
A licence is valid for one year from the issue date, minus one day. A licence issued on 10 March 2026 is valid until 9 March 2027. HQ can renew it. An expired licence shows as Expired on the verify page, and a fighter needs an active licence to appear in published tables.

Suspension
KBN World HQ can suspend a licence for reasons such as a breach of the code of conduct, an anti-doping rule violation, a medical suspension or false information in an application. The reason is recorded in the audit log, the verify page shows the suspension immediately, and the fighter leaves every published table until reinstated.
Licence versus certificate
The licence is the athlete's working document: it is what an official scans at check-in. The Certificate of Official World Ranking is a recognition document issued at publication. It states the athlete's achievement line (for example "World No. 3 · Welterweight"), division, points and identifiers, with the president's signature and seal. Both carry QR codes that resolve on the verify page.
How to check a licence
Open the verify page and enter a licence number, certificate number or Fighter ID, or scan the QR code with a phone camera. The page shows whether the document is valid, active, suspended or expired, or says "No matching record". It never shows identity documents or contact details.
What happens at check-in
At a KBN-sanctioned event, officials scan the QR code on your licence with the referee app. They see your licence status, medical clearance validity, suspension status and a weigh-in entry against your class limit. A clear, active licence makes check-in take seconds; an expired or suspended one stops it.
Licence and ranking are linked
To appear in a published ranking table, a fighter must be licensed, have their ranking published, not be suspended and have points above zero. A licence that expires or is suspended removes the fighter from the tables until the problem is resolved. The verified record itself is never deleted.
Where to find your licence
Log in to the fighter portal (or the KBN app) to see your licence card with a large QR code, download the PDF, or print it. Promoters and officials never need a paper copy: the QR code and the register are what count.
Frequently asked questions
QIs a KBN licence the same as a national boxing or kickboxing licence?
No. It is the KBN ranking licence. Many countries also require a national or commission licence to compete; check the rules where the event takes place.
QCan a branch issue my licence faster?
No. Branches verify applications but only KBN World HQ can issue Fighter IDs and licences.
QWhat does "Pending verification" mean on a licence?
The athlete is in review and no licence has been issued yet, so the document is not valid for competition or ranking purposes.
QDoes the licence show my passport number?
Never. Identity numbers are encrypted and are not shown on documents or public pages.
QWhat happens if I lose the printed licence?
Nothing is lost: the licence lives in the register. Download it again from your fighter portal or show the QR code on your phone.
