Anti-doping & medical policy

1. Purpose and framework

1.1KBN protects athlete health and clean sport. Under the Executive Statute (Art. 4.2 and Art. 11) members must comply with anti-doping regulations in line with the World Anti-Doping Code, and competitors undergo medical examinations before, during and after competition.

1.2This policy summarises how the platform supports those rules. The detailed anti-doping rules adopted by KBN, and the testing agency it appoints, prevail over this summary. The identity of that agency and any agreement with a national anti-doping organisation are [to be confirmed].

2. Medical clearance

2.1Every licensed athlete must hold a medical clearance issued by a registered medical practitioner and recorded by the branch medical officer. Its validity is shown at event check-in in the referee app.

2.2An athlete without valid clearance may not compete under KBN sanction. Post-bout medical suspensions ordered by the ringside physician are recorded and enforced across all branches.

3. The medical vault and weigh-ins

3.1The athlete passport includes a medical vault in which authorised medical officers can record clearances, suspensions, test entries and notes, and attach documents. Entries can be marked visible to the athlete. Weigh-in results and weight logs are also recorded.

3.2This is health data (special category data). It is accessible only to authorised roles, never published, and processed as described in the Privacy notice. The public verify page shows only whether a licence is active or suspended, never the medical reason.

4. Anti-doping obligations

4.1By applying, every athlete accepts KBN's anti-doping rules. Athletes may be tested in and out of competition by the relevant national anti-doping organisation or by KBN's appointed agency.

4.2Athletes included in a testing pool may be asked to submit whereabouts information (dates, location and a daily time window). It is used only to locate the athlete for testing.

4.3Test records (date, type, agency, sample code, result) and sanctions are recorded by authorised officers. Sample analysis is performed by the testing agency, not by KBN.

5. Consequences of a violation

5.1An established anti-doping rule violation leads to disqualification of affected results and removal of their points, suspension of the licence for the sanction period, and publication of the sanction where the applicable rules require. The competent KBN body decides and the athlete is heard first; see the Complaints & appeals procedure.

5.2A provisional suspension may be imposed where the applicable rules allow, and is shown on the verify page as a suspension without the reason.

6. Athlete welfare

6.1KBN's Medical & Health Committee may set annual bout limits, minimum rest periods, weight-cut limits and concussion protocols. Officials must refuse a bout where these are not met, whatever the ranking consequences.

6.2Nothing on the Service is medical advice. Athletes should always consult a qualified medical professional.
