1. What you can challenge
1.1You can ask for a decision to be reviewed if it affects you: rejection of an application or of a result; the level or multiplier of an event; a ranking calculation or position (including your right to a human review of the automated calculation); refusal, suspension or revocation of a licence; a disciplinary sanction; a KBN Social moderation decision (content removal, suspension or ban, or refusal of a verification badge); or a refund decision.
1.2Always quote your application number, Fighter ID, licence or certificate number, order number or social username, and explain what you think is wrong and what evidence supports your view.
↑ Contents2. Step 1: review by the deciding body
2.1For decisions by a national branch (stages 1 to 3 of an application), write to your branch within 14 days of being told of the decision. Branch contacts are on the branch pages. The branch reviews the evidence and replies within 14 days. A branch cannot overturn a KBN World HQ decision but can forward your request with a recommendation.
2.2For KBN Social moderation decisions, reply to the notice you received or write to holdingkbn@gmail.com with the subject "Social appeal" within 14 days. A moderator who did not take the original decision reviews it and replies within 14 days.
↑ Contents3. Step 2: Ranking Committee review
3.1If you disagree with the branch reply, or the decision was made by KBN World HQ, write to holdingkbn@gmail.com with the subject "Appeal" within 14 days. The Ranking Committee reviews the whole file, may ask for more evidence and decides within 30 days.
3.2If the appeal succeeds, points, positions and the verify page are corrected immediately, and the correction is logged.
↑ Contents4. Step 3: final internal appeal
4.1Disciplinary sanctions, anti-doping decisions and refused Step 2 appeals may be referred within 21 days to a final appeal panel of KBN, made up of members who took no part in the original decision. The body that constitutes this panel under the Executive Statute, and any external arbitration route (for example to a sports arbitration body), are [to be confirmed].
4.2The panel's decision is final within the federation, without prejudice to any right you have to go to court or to an arbitration body where the law or the Statute allows.
↑ Contents5. Fairness guarantees
5.1You will be told the reasons for the decision you are challenging and see the evidence relied on (except where that would harm another person's safety or rights). You can respond in writing, and in disciplinary cases ask to be heard. Nobody reviews their own decision. We may extend a deadline where it is fair, and will tell you if we need more time.
5.2A sanction continues to apply while it is under appeal unless the reviewing body decides otherwise.
