Code of conduct & disciplinary rules

1. Who this code applies to

1.1Athletes, coaches, clubs, referees and judges, medical and anti-doping officers, national branch officers, administrators, committee members, event organisers and every member of KBN, whether acting in person, at an event or on the Service (including KBN Social).

2. Principles

2.1In line with Art. 12 of the Executive Statute: respect for opponents, officials, media and the public; honesty in all records and declarations; fair play and sportsmanship; zero tolerance of violence outside the rules of the sport, discrimination, racism, harassment, abuse and corruption; and compliance with the Statute and the decisions of KBN bodies.

3. Prohibited conduct

• Submitting false, altered or misleading records, documents or evidence.
• Offering, requesting or accepting any payment, favour or threat to influence a verification, ranking, officiating or disciplinary decision; offering or selling ranking points or documents.
• Match-fixing, manipulating a result or scorecard, or betting on a bout in which you are involved or have inside information.
• Competing under a false identity, in a class you are not licensed for, or while suspended or without medical clearance.
• Doping or assisting doping (see Anti-doping & medical policy).
• Harassment, abuse, hate speech or threats, in person or online.
• Misuse of an administrative or officiating role, including accessing records outside your branch or your assigned bouts, or disclosing confidential or personal data.
• Bringing the federation into disrepute or failing to comply with a decision of a KBN body.
• Retaliating against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.

4. Sanctions

4.1Depending on seriousness: warning; removal of results and points; fine where the Statute or membership terms provide; suspension of the licence or of an official's licence for a fixed period; withdrawal of a licence; removal from office; and, for branches or organisers, suspension of sanctioning rights.

4.2Sanctions are proportionate, recorded in the audit log and published only where the Statute or the applicable rules require. A licence suspension is shown on the verify page without the reason.

5. Procedure

5.1Cases are handled by the competent KBN committee (the Ethics & Discipline Committee under Art. 10 of the Statute). The person concerned is told in writing of the allegation and the evidence, may respond within 14 days, may be accompanied or represented, and may ask to be heard.

5.2Where there is a serious risk to athletes or to the integrity of competition, a provisional suspension may be imposed pending the decision; it is reviewed promptly.

5.3Decisions are reasoned and delivered in writing. Members of the committee with a conflict of interest must not take part.

5.4The Complaints & appeals procedure applies to every decision.

6. Reporting

6.1Report breaches to holdingkbn@gmail.com with the subject "Integrity" (or "Safeguarding" for concerns about a child or vulnerable adult). Reports are treated confidentially as far as the law and a fair procedure allow.
