The KBN World Ranking is live: how every point is earned
One fighter, one ID, one verified record. A plain-language guide to the base points, event multipliers and time value behind every table in the KBN World Ranking.
The KBN World Ranking is now the reference table for every licensed KBN athlete. There is a separate table for every combination of discipline × category × gender × weight class, published at three levels — world, continental and national — and points never transfer between divisions.
Base points for each verified bout
- Participation in an approved official bout: 5 points (a no-contest scores 0 by default)
- Each win: +20
- Win by KO or TKO: +5
- Win by submission — MMA only: +5
- Tournament third place +25, runner-up +50, champion +100
- Successful KBN title defence: +75
The event multiplier
A KBN World Cup counts ×2.5. The Ranking Committee may set a lower multiplier for a particular event — or reject it (×0). Events submitted by athletes have no level until HQ sets one, and until then their bouts score nothing.
Time value
Results from the last 12 months count in full. Results between 12 and 24 months old count 50%. After 24 months a result no longer counts in the active ranking. Bout points = base × multiplier × time value, rounded to one decimal.
World No. 1 Aleksei Karimov shows the formula at work: his 2025 World Championship final is worth (5 + 20 + 5 + 100) × 3.0 × 100% = 390, and his total today is 635 points.
Every number in the table can be traced to a verified bout, an event level and a date. That is what makes it a ranking and not an opinion.
