WADA publishes the 2027 Prohibited List

The World Anti-Doping Agency has published its 2027 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, together with explanatory notes and its 2027 monitoring programme. The list was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee on 10 September 2026 and enters into force on 1 January 2027.

WADA says the changes add examples and clarifications in several sections, including hormone and metabolic modulators, diuretics and masking agents, and cannabinoids. It also confirmed that GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide and tirzepatide keep their current status in 2027 while more data is gathered.

Athletes and support staff in every combat sport should check the new list before January.
