A ranking that only counts wins pushes fighters towards soft matchmaking. KBN awards five participation points for any approved official bout, win or lose, so an athlete who takes a hard fight at a World Cup and loses (5 × 2.5 = 12.5 points) still earns more than someone who wins a padded national bout would lose by staying home.
Participation points × multiplier, full time value.
Why it cannot be farmed
- Only bouts at events sanctioned by KBN World HQ count; an event has no multiplier until HQ sets one.
- Every bout must be verified against an official result sheet, fight card or organiser confirmation.
- A no-contest earns nothing, so a bout that is stopped for an accidental foul is not a free five points.
- Results older than 24 months expire, so a decade of losses does not accumulate.
In the demo data the effect is visible: Marcus Okonkwo of Nigeria has a 3-2-0 verified record but sits at World #4 in his division because his losses came at high-multiplier events.
