KBN Social guidelines & terms

1. About KBN Social

1.1KBN Social is the members-only network of the KBN World Federation of Martial Arts for fighters, coaches, officials, journalists and fans of combat sports: profiles, posts, shorts, stories, groups, direct messages and notifications.

1.2These guidelines and terms apply in addition to the Terms of use and the Acceptable use policy. The short version is in the Community rules, which every member accepts when joining.

1.3Social activity (followers, likes, posts, badges) has no effect on ranking points, positions, licences or verification decisions.

2. Joining

2.1You must be 18 or over. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up; it is stored encrypted and used only for the age check. If you are under 18 we refuse the sign-up and do not keep your details.

2.2You must verify your e-mail address before you can post or message. One person, one account.

2.3Your username must not impersonate a fighter, official, KBN staff member or any other person or organisation, and must not suggest that you are an administrator, moderator or KBN official. Offensive usernames are blocked.

3. Combat sports only

3.1Posts, shorts, stories and groups must be about combat sports: fights and results, training, technique, camps, nutrition and weight management, events, officiating and fight culture. Each post needs a topic. Off-topic content may be removed.

4. Prohibited content and behaviour

• Harassment, bullying, threats, doxxing, pile-ons or encouraging others to target someone. Trash talk about a fight is fine; abuse of a person, their family, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or nationality is not.
• Hate speech, slurs or content that attacks people for who they are.
• Real-world violence outside a sanctioned contest, street fights, or content glorifying injury outside the sport.
• Sexual content, nudity, or any sexualised content involving minors (reported to the authorities).
• Promotion or sale of performance-enhancing drugs, dangerous weight-cutting methods or supplements with false claims.
• Betting tips that suggest inside knowledge, or anything that suggests match-fixing (reported to the KBN integrity team).
• Sharing anyone's passport or ID numbers, medical results, licence documents, home address or contact details.
• Content you do not have the right to share, including broadcast footage without permission (see Copyright & takedown procedure).
• Spam, scams, fake engagement, selling accounts or badges, or offering ranking points or documents for money.
• False claims to be KBN, a branch, an official or a verified fighter.

4.1Swear words are automatically masked. That filter is a courtesy, not a moderation decision.

5. Your content and privacy settings

5.1You own what you post and give KBN the licence described in the Terms of use. You control who sees your posts with your account and post settings (public or private account; post audience). Stories disappear from view after 24 hours unless you add them to a highlight.

5.2You can edit or delete your posts and comments, and deactivate your profile in Social settings. Content others have shared or quoted may remain until they delete it; residual copies stay in backups until they expire.

6. Direct messages

6.1Direct messages are private between the participants but are not end-to-end encrypted: they are stored on KBN's servers so that they can be delivered to you on any device.

6.2KBN staff do not read messages routinely. A moderator may review a specific message when it has been reported to us, when we must investigate a serious safety or legal concern (for example threats, child safety or match-fixing), or when the law requires. Such access is logged.

6.3You can unsend your own messages. Do not share sensitive personal data in messages.

7. Reports and moderation

7.1Anyone can report a post, comment, story, message, profile or group from its ⋯ menu. Reports are reviewed by trained KBN moderators, prioritising reports about minors, threats, doping and match-fixing.

7.2Moderators may: remove or restrict content; hide content pending review; issue a warning; temporarily suspend an account; or permanently ban an account. Serious matters may be referred to the KBN Executive, a disciplinary body under the Code of conduct & disciplinary rules and, where required, the police or other authorities.

7.3We act proportionately, taking into account how serious the breach is, whether it was deliberate and your history. We will tell you what action we took and why, unless doing so would put someone at risk or break the law. We tell reporters the outcome of their reports.

7.4Group owners and moderators can approve, decline and remove posts in their groups and remove members, in line with these guidelines.

8. Suspensions, bans and appeals

8.1A suspension stops you posting, commenting and messaging for the stated period. A ban closes your social profile permanently. Repeated or severe breaches lead to a ban; creating a new account to avoid a ban is prohibited.

8.2You can appeal a moderation decision within 14 days under the Complaints & appeals procedure. A moderator who was not involved in the original decision will review it.

9. Verification badges

9.1The blue tick confirms that an account belongs to the fighter, coach, official, journalist, creator or public figure it represents. You apply from Social → Request verification, giving your full name, category, the reason and links, and you may upload an identity document. The document is stored privately, is viewable only by authorised staff through a short-lived link, and is deleted as soon as a decision is made.

9.2The red K shield appears automatically on members linked to a KBN-licensed fighter and points to their official, verified record.

9.3Badges cannot be bought, sold or transferred. We may remove a badge if the account changes hands, becomes inactive, or breaches these guidelines, or if the information given was false. A badge is not an endorsement by KBN.

10. Legal content and illegal content

10.1KBN takes proportionate steps to protect users from illegal content and content harmful to children, in line with the Online Safety Act 2023 where it applies. You can report illegal content using the report tools or by e-mail to holdingkbn@gmail.com with the subject "Illegal content".
