1. About these terms

1.1These terms of use (the "Terms") govern your use of the website at worldkbn.com, every national branch page served under it, KBN Social, the fighter portal, the officials' tools and the KBN app (a progressive web application) (together, the "Service").

1.2The Service is provided for the KBN World Federation of Martial Arts ("KBN", "we", "us"). The legal entity responsible for the Service is [to be confirmed]. Our full legal details are on the Imprint & contact page.

1.3By creating an account, submitting an application or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. Please read them together with the documents listed in clause 1.4.

1.4The following documents form part of these Terms and apply where relevant: Acceptable use policy, KBN Social guidelines & terms (if you use KBN Social), Fees & refunds policy (if you pay for anything), Ranking regulations, Licence & certificate terms, Event participant terms (if you take part in a sanctioned event), Code of conduct & disciplinary rules and Complaints & appeals procedure. Our Privacy notice and Cookie policy explain how we handle personal data; they are notices, not contract terms.

1.5If there is a conflict, the more specific document applies to its subject (for example, the Ranking Regulations prevail over these Terms on how points are calculated).

2. Who may use the Service

2.1Anyone may browse the public pages (rankings, fighter profiles, events, branch pages, articles and the verify page) without an account.

2.2To create a fan account you must be at least 16 years old. To join KBN Social you must be at least 18 years old and verify your e-mail address.

2.3An athlete under 18 may be registered for the ranking only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, uploaded during registration. See the Safeguarding & minors policy.

2.4Administrator, branch, referee and committee roles are assigned only by KBN World HQ. You may use a role only for the purpose for which it was assigned.

2.5You must not use the Service if we have suspended or terminated your access, or if you are prohibited from doing so by law.

3. Your account and security

3.1You must give accurate, complete and current information and keep it up to date. One person may hold one account; accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred.

3.2You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your password confidential and, where two-factor authentication is enabled (it is available to all administrators and required for super administrators outside demo mode), keep your authenticator device secure. Tell us immediately at holdingkbn@gmail.com if you think your account has been misused.

3.3We may require you to reset your password, re-verify your e-mail address or re-enrol two-factor authentication if we have security concerns.

4. The ranking service and its limits

4.1Ranking points are earned only through verified sporting performance and can never be purchased. No payment, donation, sponsorship, membership, social-media activity or other benefit creates, increases, protects or restores ranking points or positions.

4.2Athletes submit records and evidence, not points. KBN alone verifies results and calculates points under the Ranking regulations. Only results that have been verified by KBN count.

4.3Submitting an application does not guarantee a ranking, a KBN Fighter ID, a licence or a certificate. The KBN Ranking Committee makes the final decision on every application and every result.

4.4Ranking positions are calculated automatically from verified results by a published formula and change as results age, new results are verified or corrections are made. A position shown on a page, in a download or in a PDF is a snapshot; the verify page shows the current, authoritative status of any licence or certificate.

4.5You authorise KBN and the relevant national branch to contact event organisers, federations and competent authorities to verify the information and documents you submit.

4.6Providing false, altered or misleading information may lead to rejection, removal of points, licence suspension, removal from the ranking and disciplinary action under the Code of conduct & disciplinary rules.

4.7Rankings are sporting information. They are not a certification of an athlete's fitness, safety, skill for any particular contest or suitability for any commercial purpose, and must not be relied on as such.

5. Acceptable use

5.1You must use the Service lawfully and in line with the Acceptable use policy. In particular you must not attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with the Service, scrape personal data, upload malware, submit forged documents, impersonate anyone or harass other users.

6. Content you submit

6.1You keep ownership of content you submit (for example application documents, bout records, photos, posts, comments and messages) ("Your Content").

6.2You grant KBN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, reproduce, adapt (for technical formatting and resizing only), display and transmit Your Content to the extent needed to operate, verify, secure and improve the Service, to publish verified sporting results and rankings, and to comply with law. For public posts on KBN Social and public comments, the licence also allows us to display them to other users in line with your privacy settings.

6.3The licence for Your Content ends when it is deleted from the Service, except where (a) it has been shared by others and they have not deleted it, (b) it forms part of the verified sporting record, the audit trail or a moderation or disciplinary file, or (c) we must keep it by law. Residual copies may remain in backups until they expire (see Data retention schedule).

6.4You confirm that you own or have permission to use Your Content, that it is accurate where it is presented as fact, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law.

6.5We may remove or restrict Your Content that breaches these Terms or the law, or that we reasonably believe exposes users, athletes or KBN to harm. We do not pre-screen all content and are not responsible for content posted by users.

7. KBN Social

7.1KBN Social is a members-only community for adults. Its additional rules are set out in the KBN Social guidelines & terms and the Community rules, which form part of these Terms for members.

7.2Social activity (followers, likes, posts or verification badges) has no effect on ranking points or positions.

8. Paid features

8.1Some optional features may be paid for (for example licence renewal, event tickets, sanction fees, the premium fan tier or federation plans). Prices, what is included and any cancellation rights are shown before you pay and are governed by the Fees & refunds policy.

9. Intellectual property

9.1The Service, its design, software, text, graphics, the KBN name, the wolf device, the red seal, the motto "One fighter. One ID. One verified record.", the layouts of the licence and certificate, and the compiled ranking database belong to KBN or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database right and trade mark law.

9.2You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use and quote individual results with attribution to KBN. Any other use requires our written permission. See the Copyright & trademark notice.

9.3If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, use the Copyright & takedown procedure.

10. Third-party links and services

10.1The Service links to and embeds content from third parties (for example official result links, YouTube videos and share links to social networks). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites or services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

11. Availability, changes and demo environments

11.1We aim to keep the Service available and secure but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, security or legal reasons and may change, add or withdraw features.

11.2Where a site shows a "Demo environment" banner, all fighters, results, licences, certificates, rankings and engagement figures are sample data and may be reset. Nothing shown on a demo site is a real licence, certificate, ranking or offer, and no real payment is taken there.

12. Our responsibility to you

12.1If you are a consumer, we provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, and you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that these Terms do not affect. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

12.2Subject to clause 12.1, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

12.3The free parts of the Service are provided for domestic, private and sporting purposes. Subject to clause 12.1, we are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity arising from your use of the free Service.

12.4Subject to clause 12.1, we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of event organisers, promoters, national federations (including KBN national branches acting on their own account), other users, or third-party services, or for events beyond our reasonable control.

12.5If you are using the Service in the course of a business (for example as a promoter, club, federation or sponsor), then, subject to clause 12.1, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) £100, and we exclude all implied terms to the extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnity (business users only)

13.1If you use the Service in the course of a business, you will indemnify KBN against losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a third-party claim that Your Content, or your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, infringes that third party's rights or breaks the law. This clause does not apply to consumers.

14. Suspension and termination

14.1You may stop using the Service at any time and may ask us to close your account (see Data subject requests). KBN Social members can deactivate their social profile in Social settings.

14.2We may suspend or terminate your account or access, or remove content, if you materially or repeatedly break these Terms, if required by law, if a competent KBN body imposes a sanction, or to protect other users, athletes or the Service. Where reasonable we will tell you why and how to challenge the decision under the Complaints & appeals procedure.

14.3Licences, sporting sanctions and ranking decisions are governed by the Licence & certificate terms, the Ranking regulations and the Code of conduct & disciplinary rules, not by account termination. Closing an account does not erase verified sporting results that form part of the public record (see Privacy notice).

14.4Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including 6.3, 9, 12, 13, 17 and 18) survive.

15. Changes to these terms

15.1We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law or KBN's rules. The version and "Last updated" date appear at the top of this page. We will give registered users reasonable notice of material changes by e-mail or in the app before they take effect. If you do not accept the change you may close your account before the change takes effect; continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Complaints

16.1If you have a complaint about the Service, please contact holdingkbn@gmail.com or follow the Complaints & appeals procedure. We acknowledge complaints within 5 working days.

17. Governing law and courts

17.1These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the law of England and Wales.

17.2The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and if you are a consumer living elsewhere you keep any mandatory protection given to you by the law of your country of residence.

17.3Sporting decisions of KBN bodies are subject first to the internal routes in the Complaints & appeals procedure and the Executive Statute. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from going to court where the law allows.

18. General

18.1If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force, and the affected provision applies to the maximum extent permitted.

18.2These Terms and the documents referred to in clause 1.4 are the entire agreement between you and KBN about the use of the Service and replace any earlier terms. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.

18.3If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation that takes over the operation of the Service; we will tell you if this happens and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your rights without our written consent.

18.4Nobody other than you and KBN has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

18.5If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
