Can my child apply for a KBN ranking?

A

Yes, if they compete in official events, with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian uploaded in the application. Without it the application cannot proceed beyond stage 1. Guide for parents.

What is published about athletes under 18?

A

Only name, country and division, under Statute Art. 17. Portrait, age, physical statistics, club and coach are not published. Results and rankings are published as sporting information. Safeguarding & minors policy.

Will my child's photo be on the website?

A

No. Portraits of athletes under 18 are not shown on public profiles. A portrait is still used on the licence document, which is shown only to the athlete and to officials who check it.

Who is the contact person for a minor's application?

A

The consenting parent or guardian is the point of contact for the application. Keep your contact details on it so the branch can reach you with document requests.

Is it safe for children to compete in combat sports?

A

All combat sports carry risk. Under KBN rules minors compete only in age-appropriate categories under the discipline's technical rules, with medical supervision and extra protective equipment where national law requires. Talk to your child's doctor and coach, and choose a club with strong safeguarding.

Should my child cut weight to compete?

A

No. Young athletes are still growing and should compete at their natural weight. Any club that pressures a child to dehydrate or restrict food to make weight is a warning sign. Weight cutting safely.

How do I report a safeguarding concern?

A

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services. Otherwise write to holdingkbn@gmail.com marked "Safeguarding"; reports are handled by the Women's and Youth Committee and referred to the competent authorities where required. You can also contact your club's welfare officer.

Can my child join KBN Social?

A

No. KBN Social is for adults only (18+). Younger fans can still follow rankings, events and fighters on the public site, and fans aged 16 or over can create a fan account.

What happens to my child's profile when they turn 18?

A

The Art. 17 limits apply while the athlete is under 18. When they become an adult, contact KBN to review the profile and hand contact details over to the athlete.

What should we watch for after a knock to the head?

A

Headache, dizziness, confusion, nausea, sleep or mood changes can signal concussion, and young athletes may not describe symptoms clearly. Stop activity and get a medical assessment; seek emergency care for red flags such as repeated vomiting or worsening headache. Concussion awareness.

Are young athletes tested for doping?

A

Athletes may be tested under the applicable anti-doping rules, and the rules on medicines and supplements apply to them too. Check any medicine with a doctor who knows your child is a tested athlete.

Can I see my child's application progress?

A

Yes. The application tracker in the fighter portal shows the six stages and any document requests. As the consenting parent you remain the point of contact throughout.

Does my child need medical clearance?

A

Yes, like every licensed athlete, and events may have their own medical requirements. KBN records only a clearance validity date and any suspension flag, never diagnoses. Medical clearance.

A

Yes. Request an export or deletion from the fighter portal or by writing to holdingkbn@gmail.com. Deletion is subject to the sporting-record archive and legal retention described in the privacy notice.
